ATmega103 Microboard - accessory equipment

The RAM/LCD module for the ATmega103 microboard series brings on some very useful features which you will come to appreciate during the building of applications and the debugging.

The Module has an inbuilt latch and a 32KB SRAM IC. The 14pin connector is for an external LCD display.
It is easy to use the LCD via the latch. The Hitachi controller HD4478 compatible LCD is connected to the latch for the memory mapped mode. This means you only have to write to address 0xC000 for LCD_IO_DATA and to 0x8000 for LCD_IO_FUNCTION.

Application

To connect the RAM module with the letATwork simply build a "sandwich" by mounting the ATmega103 microboard onto the RAM module. The LCD port will still be reachable.
This "sandwich" is of course applicable in the Starter Board.
